Halloween At The Harley Shop 10-31-08

Today, Friday, 10-31-08, is Halloween and a few days ago when David & I went to Red River Harley Davidson, Jennie, our favorite salesgirl, told me to be sure to come back Halloween because they were dressing up..So, I got up this morning, called David, went & picked him up and we went to the Harley shop. Scroll down and see who was there today and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE!!

When we got to Red River Harley Davidson, I took this picture of the front of the business, something I do every time I go there..

Outside, we talked to Jim who was in the process of selling a customer a Harley.

Inside the dealership, we see another hard worker, Dale.

For those on an acid trip, this would be your 60's flashback. This is Ginger and Amber. Hard to believe that we actually dressed like that back then..Well, not us guys but the girls did...

This is Samantha. What kind of costume is she wearing, you may ask?

This is Jennie, dressed in black..That black shirt really brought out the blond in her hair...

Jennie, my favorite salesgirl at Red River Harley Davidson...

Why, Samantha is a Pink Lady.... What is a Pink Lady you ask? Well, it's not the ones who work at hospitals..Those are Pink Darlings..

I'll keep giving you hints..Think hard about the movie with the gang members girls in Pink...

Geez Ginger, not only is that original but it is a heck of a camouflage. She blends in with the background doesn't she?

She is a Pink Lady from the movie Grease!! I keep lookin' around for John Travolta but he wasn't around...

Here is the Harley emblem on one of the many helmets on display & for sale...

A couple of Harley Bears in formation

Last picture of the visit, was Santa on a Harley pulling a trailer..I would've taken more pics but I forgot to change out batteries in the camera and the camera died..
We had fun down at Red River Harley Davidson during our short visit today. I look forward to the next visit..Scroll down for more rides, events & posts and don't forget to click on the "older posts" at the bottom of EACH page for more posts back to January 08. Until next post/ride, be careful out there, ride safe, watch out for the ghosts & goblinettes tonight if you're out on your scoots or in your cages and keep the rubber on the road.....................JOHN

Eddie Hills Fun Cycles 10-29-08

Today, Wednesday, 10-29-08, I followed David to Eddie Hill's in his pick-up truck so he could drop his bike off for some needed repairs. We then went to Red River Harley Davidson & hung out there for awhile. David dropped me off at the house and this afternoon, we went back to Eddie Hill's to get David's bike and I took my camera this time. Scroll down and check out some new models and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE..

Seems like every time we go down to Eddie Hill's, I always get the front of the building but never the sign on the building..Today, I remedied that situation. Here is the Eddie Hill's Fun Cycle sign on the building located at 401 N. Scott Wichita Falls Texas. See this link for more info: http://www.eddiehillsfuncycles.com/

Here is the Vulcan 2000 Classic that Trey rides...This is the one he says at 70 mph, if you crack the throttle open, you better be hangin on because the bike will try to unass you...Raw power..

Here is the Vulcan 2000 Classic LT that may prevent me from getting my Harley this Spring...

They also had two of these: Yamaha Royal Star Ventures. One red/black and the other silver/black. I sat on one and you sank down in that seat. I'd pay 18 thousand just for the seat. The only thing I didn't like about it is, it has a cassette player. It does have hook ups in the saddlebag (left) for a cd changer though. I guess Yamaha has been getting a zillion complaints and questions as to why the the cassette player over the years, but they continue to put them on the bikes...

Here is the silver/black Venture.. I will never be comfortable on Ms Clone's seat again..

We left downtown and I followed David to his place and he dropped off his bike. He then took me home. Here is David & his bike at his place... The following pictures are stock photo's taken off Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles Website...

Kawasaki also is doing away with the 1600 Vulcan's and now have these. This is a Vulcan 1700 Voyager. They come in three colors: this color...
This is the silver & black Voyager

And this is the blue & black Voyager. The color is the same as Doug's new Harley Ultra Classic...I was told these will probably run in the $17,000 range..They still haven't got the prices in at Eddie Hill' s yet

Here is that Black & eggshell Yamaha Venture..

And the last pic is the red/black Venture. These are tagged at $18,190. But I tell ya, I have been riding bikes forever and this motorcycle has the most comfortable seat I have ever been on..
This will conclude today's activities. Enjoyed talking to Chris, Rick & Mark today at Eddie Hill's and enjoyed looking at the new bikes. Scroll down for more rides, posts & events and don't forget to click on the "older posts" link at the bottom of EACH page for more posts back to January 08. Until next ride/event & post, ya'll be careful out there, ride safe, and keep that rubber on the road.....................JOHN

Wednesday Ride To The Harley Shop- 10-29-08

Today, Wednesday, 10-29-08, I followed David down to Eddie Hill's in his truck so he could drop off his bike for repairs. We left Eddie' Hill's and went to the Red River Harley Davidson Dealership, which is one of our hangouts and since its been a few weeks since I've been there, I took my camera and thought I would do an updated post on the dealership and the folks that work there, all whom have become friends of ours. So, scroll on down and check out the update and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE...

We got there at about 9 a.m. and just about the time the sun was hitting the big Harley sign out front. One thing about the Harley logo, you don't have to read it to know what it is. Even when it's sunlit...

They already had some of the used bikes sitting out..I always enjoy looking at the bikes and at what the previous owners had added on to them..Some sharp looking and sounding bikes..

> We went inside and saw Greg. Greg is one of our retired coworkers that landed a job with Harley upon retirement. He runs the Riders Edge Program. For more info, see the following link to the dealership: http://redriverharley-davidson.com/Default.asp Above is David and Greg in Greg's office

Here are some of the new Harleys on the showroom floor. Today I only drooled on two or three...

Here is one I drooled on. It's a Screaming' Eagle....My favorite bike colors, blue & gray. Or as Greg corrected me, more like blue & pewter.

I found my favorite salesperson, Jennie, hard at work folding t-shirts..

Jennie showed me her new tat: the Texas Lone Star.

On her other arm is the blue rose with her daughter, Madison's, name on it..Good lookin' tattoo's Jennie...

Here is Royce & Gene trying to get some work done, but were kind enough to pause for a picture..

More bikes on the showroom floor. They really have some great bikes at Red River Harley Davidson

Here is the ever energetic Amber working hard overseeing Ginger & Jennie....

And here are the two hard workers, Jennie & Ginger..I watched them with the t-shirts and I am here to tell ya, they have that folding sequence down! Very fast & very good...

We lured Greg out of his office into the bright light by the check out counter..He really loves working there at RRHD.

Another Harley that I slobbered on.

They had some more Harley clocks that I had to get a pic of. All different than the last one's I posted

Here was a rack of metal Harley signs..The Harley dealerships of today carry stuff we only dreamed about back in the 70's..They have come a LONG way!!

They even had a clearance rack of helmets & boots...

Another view of that Dyna Screamin' Eagle...

This is Christina. She tried to sneak by but being the quick fat guy that I am, I caught her and talked her into a picture. She is another hard worker of the Harley team there at RRHD. And like I told them today, I am not really fat, it's just a protective covering for my rock hard abs....

One of the scenic corners in the Dealership

The other corner and what I call, "The Sign of the Times"..

Ya'll have heard that everything is bigger in Texas. Think I'm kidding? Well, this is a Big Ass Fan!!

And this is the "Big Ass Fan" box that it comes in. Keith told me that the fan has 10 speeds on it. At #4, it blows everything everywhere around the shop..

Jennie hard at work at the front register, waiting on customers..

Ginger hard at work at the other register at the front counter, waiting on customers.

This is Gene, Christina & Keith, taking time out for a quick picture.

Keith took us back in the back to show us this trike that was traded in the other day

This is a 1999 Honda Valkyrie Trike with 1,200 miles on it for $15,000. Sharp looking bike

Another view of the trike. We called Steve G. that rides with us and told him about it and he is supposed to come test drive it today. Steve G. has that red Valkyrie that is pictured in some of the previous posts

Here is the last pic of the Valkyrie trike.

Last pic this morning was of David and Jim. Jim is also a former coworker and I believe he is part owner of RRHD. A great guy and he knows his stuff about motorcycles..

That will conclude this post..I had a great time visiting with the folks at Red River Harley Davidson and slobbering on the bikes..If your ever in the vicinity of Wichita Falls Texas, stop in and say hi and look at the bikes at RRHD. They are located at US 287 & City View Dr. on the North side of the highway.
