Janice Rides To Oklahoma 10-2-08

Thursday, 10-2-08, was Janice's & my 16th anniversary and she had mentioned she wanted to take the bike up to the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma, ride around there for awhile and then go eat at Meers, a legendary burger place in the mountains. So, following the retiree breakfast, (see next post), I went back to the house & got Janice and headed North to Oklahoma. Scroll down for this brief ride and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE!!

I get to the house and this is Janice adjusting her helmet prior to leaving...

Here I am waiting for Janice to come get on Ms Clone.

We headed North on I-44 and when we crossed the Red River into Oklahoma, Janice started asking about the casino's. I sensed, from previous experience, that Janice no linger wanted to go to the mountains, so I asked her if she'd rather go to the Casino. She readily agreed and to the casino we went. Here is Janice out front of the Comanche Red River Casino. You can't take pictures inside a casino, so this and the next picture are all we have of the Casino trip.

Here I am in front of the Casino. We went in, lost a few dollars , and then left. We went to Okla Hwy 70 and headed East for the 32 mile ride to Waurika Oklahoma, where we would stop at Bill's Catfish Restaurant and eat.

I tried to take Janice's picture as we rolled down Hwy 70 and couldn't get the angle right. Here is the first picture.

Here is the 2nd. She won't smile too much because of the bug stories..

And here is the last one as we near Waurika, Oklahoma.

Inside Bill's, we ask the waitress to take our picture and she obliged.

We left Bill's and drove back to Wichita Falls and went to Surles Loan & talked to Sheila, our local seamstress goddess, who does our patchwork on our vests and a variety of other sewing jobs. See: http://www.thinmilitaryribbons.com/cgi-bin/tmr.cgi & this site: http://jjskewlstuff.blogspot.com/2008/07/best-business-to-get-patches-sewn-on.html. Here is Sheila, Don (Sheila's dad & owner of Surles) and Janice. Leaving Surles,we went back to the house. This will conclude this post. We had a good time today and Janice finally got to meet Sheila. Scroll down for more rides, events & posts and don't forget to click on the "older posts" link at the bottom of EACH page for more posts, back to January 2008..Until next ride & post, ya'll be careful out there, ride safe, keep close watch for the road morons, and keep the rubber on the road................John
