Russ's Crimestopper Fun Run Pics 17 May 08

Back on Saturday, 17 May 08, Crimestoppers of Wichita Falls Texas had its Annual Fun Run. Russ took pictures and due to him working out of town & being laid up with shoulder surgery, he was delayed in getting his pictures to me for the post. No problem..We will post them now. So, scroll on down & enjoy the great pics that Russ took that day. REMEMBER: if you want to see the picture bigger, click on the picture!!

This is Linda, the better half of Russ. This was taken just prior to their departure to Eddie Hills Fun Cycles, the gathering/registration point and starting point of the fun run..

Waiting for the start of the run at Eddie Hills Fun Cycles, downtown Wichita Falls Texas: left to right: Van, Linda, Trish (Van's wife), Debbie & Sissy.

During registration I talk to a former co-worker & friend, Officer Poole. Left to right: Amy, Kyle (Amy's Husband), Officer Poole & me

When I got to Texas after we pulled out of Vietnam & Thailand and the rest of the area, the first thing I bought was a m/c from Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles back in early 1975. We, Bill & I, also brought back some gems and sold them to Eddie's mom & Eddie..When Eddie & Ercie got married back in the 80's, I was a WFPD motorcycle officer and was present at Eddie & Ercie's wedding as a witness with Officer Mendoza, another motor officer. We signed their marriage license on the back as witnesses along with the preacher. (they did that back then). We then escorted Eddie & Ercie in Eddie's Black Lotus around town & then back down to the Fun Cycle Shop. And yes, Eddie did have a parade permit. Above is a pic of Eddie Hill & I 25 years later at the Fun Run.

The crowd at the South side if Eddie Hills. Lower left are: Trish, Debbie & Sissy

My daughter Amanda rode with me that day & had a blast. My other daughter, Amy, rode with her soon to be hubby Dustin..She had fun but not being used to m/c's, her butt was hurting after the short 92 mile run..Here is a pic, out of sequence, of Amanda & me heading for Stop 4 in Wichita Falls. This was taken on the Lake Arrowhead Spillway.
