Retiree's, Almost Retiree & Bikes 10-2-08

Today, 10-2-08, was a day that was busy all day from 7 a.m. to about 10:30 p.m. For starters, it was Thursday and on Thursday mornings, a bunch of us retired guys meet in a town West of here at 8 a.m. for breakfast. The number of motorcycle riders is growing weekly within the group. Today, was also my 16th Wedding Anniversary & Janice wanted to go up to Medicine Park Oklahoma on the bike and eat lunch up there. The ride with Janice will be on a separate post. Scroll down & check out the retired guys & bikes. Before I start in with the bike pics & such, this pic & the one immediately below are for a special birthday girl. This is Dottie & me at our breakfast today. Dottie is the cook at the Cafe. Dottie is also the mom of Brenda. Brenda & Danny own Stone Creek Leathers in Burkburnett Texas. (http://jjskewlstuff.blogspot.com/2008/07/stone-creek-leathers-7-19-08.html). Tomorrow, Friday, is Brenda's birthday. I am not telling you how old she is, but Dottie told me how old & Dottie also said for me to go up to Burkburnett and give Brenda the required number of birthday spanks and a pinch to grow an inch. Not wanting to die at Danny's hands, Brenda's hands or Janice's hands, I shall just say: Happy birthday Brenda!! and I'll fore-go the birthday whacks..

Here is Russ arriving at my house at 0745 a.m., so we could ride out to the breakfast...

It was about 53 degrees and he was leathered up.. I had a t-shirt on with a long sleeve shirt over it and fingerless gloves..Froze my butt off on the way out there to the breakfast..

Here are four of the bikes that showed up this morning..There are several more Harley's but not all showed up today....That's Dales red bike at the far end, my blue/silver Ms Clone next to it, Mark's Harley and then Russ's Harley that he calls the "Black Knight"

Kelly even road his 74 mpg bike today..Trying to get him to come riding with us and he is thinking about it..

Jerry lookin' good on Mark's Harley. Russ, next to Jerry, is fixin' to leave..He was heading down to Dallas Texas for some appointments & such. One was to a retired coworker's son's tattoo shop, for a tattoo from a design Russ had made..When I see Russ again and the Vaseline is off the tat, I will get a pic of it for ya'll. I saw the picture of the design and it is a good one...

Here Dale is gearing up as Kelly clowns around on Ms Clone..Kelly is a riot and is one brick short of a full load...We've been friends for almost 30 years and now my bricks are becoming chipped...

An In Memory of J.H. shot..J.H., another retired coworker, died last month and he used to wear his hat like Kelly is wearing the helmet. Not to worry Kelly!! My head lice is about cleared up so feel free to continue to wear my helmet!!! (grin)

Here is Kelly with his bike...We're also trying to get Kelly to join the Blue Knights Tx XX. He is thinking about it also..

Here is Mark on his bike..He has every bug in Southern Oklahoma on his windshield. He rides the bike every night to a part time job..He does put a dent in the bug population, but it's only a temporary fix...

Dale fixing to head out..Dale, you'll remember, was the guy in the Blue Knights post, on Tuesday, that was at our meeting getting the WFPOA Building ready to be used as the Hospitality Center for the State CLEAT convention that will be held here in Wichita Falls this weekend. He busted his butt, along with Donna, his wife and has done an OUTSTANDING job on getting it ready..
