Medicine Park, Chaps My Ass & Mt. Scott Oklahoma Run 7-5-08 Part 3

Part 3 of the Medicine Park, Chaps My Ass & Mt. Scott Oklahoma Run, will take us from the top of Mt. Scott, down through the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge and then the back road run home. We left the house at 3 p.m. and rolled back in a little after 10 p.m. So, scroll on down to see the conclusion of this scenic ride and don't forget to click on the older post link at the bottom of each page to see more m/c runs/events & posts. REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, SIMPLY CLICK ON THE PICTURE...

The trip up Mt. Scott was pretty scenic. Janice took over the camera because she got nervous with me driving the bike with one hand and taking pictures with the other hand. This is a view out & over the guard rail going up...

Some of the Wichita Mountains

These are Alan's Harley & David's Goldwing on top of Mt. Scott

If you click on this picture, you will see the herd of buffalo we passed coming to Mt. Scott. Janice got a picture of a few of them in Part 2.

David up on top of Mt. Scott. Mt. Scott is 2,464 ft ASL.

Jim wasted no time in finding himself a nice shaded spot on the rocks on top of Mt. Scott

John, Keri & Andre strike a pose with a scenic background

Linda, looking pretty as usual, smiling for "Snapshot", my new nickname..

I had to try out the zoom on this little camera..That is Mike, Robbie, Patti, Alan & Alyssa

Patti joins her hubby, Jim, in the shade on the not so soft rocks...

Russ, Keri & Andre at Lookout Point, Mt. Scott.

Linda & Russ, having fun & all smiles on the mountain top

Russ, in amongst the bikes on Mt. Scott

As we left Mt. Scott and headed out of the refuge, we saw some interesting things..Like these Longhorns at the intersection..

This buffalo was walking right down the Eastbound lane of traffic..We passed within six feet of it...

The bikes behind as we head out of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Russ, our Road Captain, with Linda, leads us home to Texas

David at the last gas stop in Oklahoma on Hwy 36

Jim at the last gas stop...What is he doing?

Why, Jim is showing us his can of "Anti Monkey Butt Powder". Keeps you from getting the red, chafed monkey butt on m/c runs... Coulda used some of that on my trip to Arizona...Mine felt like that monkey's looks...

Keri, Andre & Andre's Harley at the last gas stop. I am glad to have met Andre..He is good guy and I look forward to riding with him again...

This is John & his Harley. Like Andre, I am glad to have met him & look forward to riding with him again..

Janice coming back to the bikes from the last gas stop food mart...Her butt was starting to bother her at this point...I am glad she came with me..Made the run even more fun...

Everyone fixin' to leave the last gas stop for the last leg of the ride home to Texas

In every run, I try to have one special thing in all of the pictures, kinda like a trademark..My trademark is Russ giving me the ol' Number 1 sign.. He is not evil, wicked, mean or nasty, he only does this because I asked him to..Now, it's like tradition

Janice takes the last shot of the bikes Southbound on Hwy 281/277 before it gets dark. The picture is NOT blurry, it's your eyes..(grin)

We (Janice & I) stopped to gas up at the Shell station at Loop 11/US 287 and since I was smelling burning rubber coming from my pipes, I thought I would take the picture of Janice's right melted heel of her boot..

This black gob of stinky stuff is her burnt rubber or whatever her boot heels were made of, melted onto my pipes..This will be fun to get off.

This will conclude Part 3 and this post. I enjoyed meeting John, Andre & Keri. Also Robert & Alyssa..I had a great time, with great friends, on a great ride in a GREAT country!! I look forward to the next one..REMEMBER: to scroll down and click on the "older Posts" link at the bottom of each page to go to other rides/events & posts all the way back to January 08. Until next ride/post, ya'll be careful, ride safe & keep the rubber on the road................JOHN AKA SNAPSHOT
