The Blue Knights Texas XX Quartz Moutain Oklahoma Run 7-20-08 Part I

On Sunday, 7-20-08, The Blue Knights Texas XX had a run up to Quartz Mountain, Oklahoma. Unfortunately, I could not go on this ride due to my daughter having her wedding shower & I had been elected to take the photos at the Church. I did, however, get up early and ride down to the staging point at the Wichita Falls Police Officer Association building at 0900 hrs and took pictures until KSU at 0930 hrs and the riders left. Russ was Road Captain for this Ride & Greg was Tailgunner..Scroll down for Part I of the ride and meet those that rode to Quartz Mountain Oklahoma. Steve V & Bobby prior to departure..Steve V told me that he is now single & looking....The boy must be a glutton for punishment...THAT'S A JOKE LADIES!!!

Vicki, Rodney's wife getting ready for the briefing..She is a good friend..

Russ starts the briefing, explaining the route, stops & staggered formation they would be riding as well as going over the hand signals to be used..

Russ continues the briefing and looks as Rodney, who got a tad too close to Greg, gets grabbed like a fly in a Venus Flytrap

The briefing in its Q&A stage..

The bikes in the parking lot of the WFPOA Building, staging point for the Quartz Mountain Oklahoma Run.

The bikes wait patiently for their owners to get on with the ride...

The briefing over, the riders start back to the bikes.

The Unknown Harley-Davidson Heritage Softtail sits somewhere alone...

The riders getting the word to mount up from Russ.

This is the opening picture of this post. The participants are waiting for me to clear the driveway so they can get on with the run..They are also posing for the required group photo...

Mark, Cathy, David, Amanda (Hey date) & Jeremy wait by the driveway to leave...

And they are off!! Russ & Linda, followed by Van pull out of the WFPOA parking lot...

Next come Steve V, Bobby & Kenny..That is Chad by his police car..He had to work Sunday...

Rodney & Rianne on the street and Vicki, on her new white Harley, is heading for the exit

Chad by his police car watches as Doug heads for the street

Doug heads West as Mark & Cathy follow & David prepares to leave. Chad still watches by the car. It was nice to see one of the guys, working Sunday, stop by & see the group off with me..Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling ...

The riders turn South on the service road. They would go down a short way & then turn right (North) and go back by on that overpass where the trees are, on Loop 11..

Last out is Greg, with David on the white Goldwing in front of him..

This concludes Part I. Scroll down for Part II of the Blue Knights Texas XX Quartz Mountain Oklahoma Run. Part II will take you into Oklahoma to the first stop in Cache, then to the Quartz Mountain Cafe, to the Quartz Mountain Lodge & then back to Wichita Falls, Texas with a final cold drink stop at the Sonic in Electra Texas......Until next ride/event & post, ya'll be careful, ride safe, & keep the wind in your face & the rubber on the road...............JOHN
